Eight parts of one plan.

Retirement income, Social Security, tax, estate and investment planning for pre-retirees and retirees across the Kansas City metro.

CFG Wealth Management provides retirement income, Social Security, tax, estate, and investment planning for pre-retirees and retirees across the Kansas City metro, organized around one plan rather than eight separate products.

One plan, eight moving parts.

Most people arrive with a specific question. When should I claim Social Security. What do I do with the 401(k) from two jobs ago. Should I convert some of the IRA while my income is low. Those are good questions, and each one has an answer, but the answers change depending on the others.

That is why the services below are not eight separate engagements. They are eight views of the same plan, and the plan starts with a Purpose Conversation about the life you are building rather than the balances you hold.

LaMont Chandler works with individuals and families who are approaching retirement or already in it, generally between the ages of fifty-five and seventy, from an office on West 94th Terrace in Prairie Village.

— Our approach —

Process first, product second.

Many financial conversations begin by talking about investments, account balances, or retirement dates. Those are important conversations. They are simply not our first one.

The first meeting is a Purpose Conversation. It is an opportunity to learn about your goals, your priorities, and what you would like retirement to help make possible. A short Purpose Conversation Guide takes about five minutes to complete, and many people say it helps them think about retirement differently before we even meet.

From there, the work is sequential. We map what you hold. We model what you plan to spend. We look at the order things should happen in and why. We meet to review on a schedule and revisit when your situation changes. We describe what the process does, not what markets will do.

— Why it matters —

Coordinated beats optimized.

A Social Security claiming date chosen in isolation can undo a careful withdrawal sequence. A Roth conversion done without looking at Medicare premium thresholds can produce a surprise two years later. A beneficiary designation left unchanged after a life event can override an estate plan entirely.

Each of those is a small decision made well on its own terms and poorly in context. Keeping them in one plan, reviewed by one person who knows what you are trying to accomplish, is the point.

Nothing here is a promise about results. It is a description of how the work is organized, and organization is the part we can actually control.

— Common questions —

Questions about working with us.

Who does CFG Wealth Management work with?

The first meeting is a Purpose Conversation. Rather than opening with balances or retirement dates, it focuses on what you want your money to make possible. There is no cost and no obligation, and nothing is recommended in that meeting.
Is LaMont Chandler registered, and how can I verify it?
LaMont Chandler holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and NASAA Series 63, 65 registrations and is registered in Kansas, Missouri, Texas, and Idaho. His CRD number is 2794744 and his record is available on FINRA BrokerCheck at brokercheck.finra.org/individual/summary/2794744.
